The Alteon Health Post Primary Care Emergency Medicine Fellowship at Brookwood Baptist Health is a one year intense immersion into Emergency Medicine. The Fellowship is designed to supplement the Physician’s Primary Care Training by providing a structured learning environment with multiple teaching modalities. The Fellow will practice Emergency Medicine in an urban and sub-urban community hospital in a protected environment side by side with Attending Physician support. The teaching environment has many learners including Internal Medicine and Surgery Residents, Physician Assistant Students, Nurse Practitioner Students, and Medical Students.

Fellowship Eligibility

  • Completion of AOA or ACGME accredited residency in Family Medicine or Internal
  • Medicine by June 30 of the Fellowship year
  • Licensed to practice medicine in the Alabama
  • ACLS, ATLS and PALS certified
  • Eligible to work in the United States during the fellowship period
  • Provide a strong record of academic, clinical, and other personal achievements
  • Demonstrate commitment to clinical Emergency Medicine
  • Demonstrate Emotional Intelligence
